Coping with COVID Using Mushrooms
COVID-19 has undoubtedly affected us all in many ways; illness, loss of job security, and the seemingly insurmountable stress from over a year of quarantine among so many other ways. While taking breaks from media and exercising may work for some, rising mental illness through this pandemic has been sending people to look for more.
Antidepressants and anti-anxiety medication are amazing tools but are ineffective for some people, which is why there are people turning to psilocybin mushrooms for relief.
“Magic Mushrooms” containing the compound psilocybin in high doses give a feeling of euphoria, spiritual awakening, and changes in sensory perception but microdoses can lift the mental fog, keep you calm, and relieve depression and anxiety. While we’re stuck at home trying to find ways to keep ourselves busy, microdosing is a great way to keep ourselves from becoming mentally worn out by the uncertainty of COVID-19.
In my personal experience, when I take my supplements in the morning, including a 200mg microdose capsule as well as a mushroom complex containing Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Reishi, and Shiitake, I feel like I can tackle the day with ease. My mental fog from chronic, “untreatable” depression lifts and I have the energy to accomplish the goals I set for myself for the day.
Although I would recommend researching the benefits of medical mushrooms, specifically psilocybin containing mushrooms, you should always talk to your doctor before taking any new supplements to make sure it’s the best treatment path for you.
